USGS elevation and national-map context

Native project-level 1 m USGS 3DEP windows feed US analyses. USGS project elevation data are public-domain data; source credits, project metadata and actual range/window hashes are retained. Bilinear alignment to the chosen local NAD83 UTM grid is declared.

The USGS Topo basemap provides orientation. Basemap detail is separate from the native elevation grid used for analysis. Publication dates are not automatically presented as survey dates.

Census address locations

Census geocoding supplies a street-range location and source geography where available. Postal state can differ from the actual state/county returned by geographic lookup. These points are not cadastral boundaries.

USDA SSURGO soil context

Optional regional soil-map units are clipped to the selected area and accompanied by component proportions and survey versions when provided. Urban land, water and NOTCOM are not counted as assessed soil. Missing weights stay unknown.

The soil summary and optional soil map layer are separate opt-ins. Each discloses the geometry or visible-map extent sent to USDA. No local hydraulic conductivity, soil loss or flood depths are invented.

German datasets remain separately described

Baden-Württemberg uses LGL terrain/parcels and verified regional LGRB context. The native 25 cm German detail profile does not imply a matching US source or a currently available paid US report.

Check the location before starting

The US pilot accepts user-drawn study areas within the contiguous-US pilot extent. The worker checks for usable native USGS project-level 1 m elevation data. Coverage is incomplete and may fail for a selected area; no coarser dataset is silently substituted.

Baden-Württemberg remains a separate established German workflow with official ALKIS parcels. US address points and drawn areas are not official parcel boundaries.

Common questions

Does this predict flooding?

No. The screening describes terrain and potential surface flow paths. It does not simulate a storm or predict water levels.

Are PDF reports free?

No. PDFs are paid products. A free preview or analysis access key is not a purchase. Check the pricing page for current sales availability.
